Anning Chen has been president and CEO of Ford Motor (China) since November 1, 2018. Anning reports directly to Jim Farley, chief operating officer, Ford Motor Company.
Under Anning’s leadership, Ford China was elevated to an independent business unit while China became one of the three business areas attached with utmost strategic importance, on par with Americas and Europe. Ford China comprises four profit and loss centers dedicated to Ford brand passenger vehicle, Lincoln, Commercial Vehicles and BEV business, underpinned by core business functions including Product Creation Enterprise, Enterprise Connectivity & Digital Experiences, designing, developing, manufacturing and distributing products and delivering customer experience of Ford and Lincoln.
Anning has been leading the expedited implementation of Ford China 2.0 strategy in light of high-quality sustainable development to bring to life “Best of Ford, Best of China, which entails competitive portfolio, top talents, smart vehicle innovation, electrification and partnership. He has also been accelerating the implementation of connectivity strategy in China, driving innovation and development of smart mobility products and service.
With up to 30 years’ dedication, Anning is an auto industry veteran of extensive experience in corporate transformation, partnership building and JV management, and developing competitive products for China. He “comes back home” to Ford, where he first began his distinguished career in 1992. During his seventeen years at Ford, he held various executive management roles focusing on product and technology platform development, and joint venture development.
